That Real Blind Tech Show

May 29, 2022

The gang is back together again in the That Real Blind Tech Show lair.

On this episode we start off discussing WWDC, oh wait, that is still a few weeks off.

What does Morgan Freeman and Zuckhead have in common? Well, you will have to listen or read this article to find out.

We figure that we’re all adults here, well maybe except for Brian, but we still discuss how Pornhub has changed the world.

In the absolutely ridiculous portion of the news, California parents will soon be able to sue over their children’s social media addictions.

In more sensible news, Apple is reminding developers that by June 30th, if their app offers the ability to create an account, it must offer the option to delete an account. In a totally utopian world, Apple wants you to be able to switch devices just by picking one up.

Netflix is stepping up its commitment to Audio Description and Captioning. Did you see the memo the CEO of Netflix sent to woke employees? We did.

One of us never dreams, so we thought it would be a good time to ask, do blind people dream? And if so, do they dream visually or in sound? And if you dream, what about nightmares too?

From dreams and nightmares to employment of the blind and low vision. We thought it would be a good time to re-visit how much of a struggle it still is for many people in the low vision and blind community to find suitable employment. And does remote work lead to more low vision and blind people getting employed?

In honor of the upcoming WWDC from Apple, we decided to take a look back at last year’s WWDC to recall what excited us about new features, and what we think about those new features now that we have been using them for a year. Hold on to your hat for this ride!

The one thing that does have us excited about WWDC 22 is the recent mention of Door Detection coming in the next iOS update, hopefully it will not be as much as a lame duck as recent iOS new features.

And it’s more of What’s Pissing Off Brian Now and Watcha Streaming, Watcha Reading!
